I SPY

How many of you have ever played the game I spy? My family and I play it all the time in the car on the way to my grandma’s house. I thought you and I could give it a try.  I wasn’t sure where we could play the game, but then it occurred to me that we could pretend to be at school in the classroom. I’ll be the I spy person giving you the clues and you can be the kids who guess the answers. How does that sound? Okay, here goes.

I spy something sticky that holds things together. Come on I know you know the answer. Glue. Yes!

Let’s try another one.

I spy something the teacher uses to write with on the blackboard. Chalk. You’re good at this.

This one is going to be really hard, so put on those thinking caps.

I spy something round and red on the teacher’s desk. You don’t know? I’ll give you another clue. You can eat it. An apple.  Yay! You got it!

I spy something you write with and it’s made of wood. A pencil.

I spy something you read from. A piece of paper? No.   Maybe a book? Yes, Yay!

I spy something you sit at during class to do your work.  A desk.

I spy something you look up at on the wall to see when class is going to end. A clock.

Maybe we could go into the school gym and spy something in there.

I spy something white and black and round. Hmm, you look stumped. Here’s another clue. You kick it with your feet. We’ve got it! We’ve got it! A soccer ball. Yes! Yes!  You’re geniuses at this.

Well I had fun. Did you?

Now, It’s time to look at those riddles sent in from around the country.

Riddles sent from.

Elizabeth from Rhode Island.

I come in a pair and you will need to tie and untie me. Don’t go outside without me and take me off before you go in the water.

What am I?

Shoes. Very good.

Oliver from Connecticut.

I have buttons or a zipper, pockets, and sometimes a belt. I’ll protect you from a cold wind, but you won’t need me in the summer. When you are done with me, please hang me in the closet.

What am I?

A coat. Good answer.

Favorite snacks.

Jimmy from South Dakota.

I love a cut up pear with a chocolate bar. It’s simple, easy and so good.

Chrissy from Vermont.

My favorite snack is a big brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. It’s the best.

I’m always hungry at this part of the blog. I’d better be going to have my own snack.

This is Penny P. Parker signing off until next time.
