Live With Penny P. Parker

Superpowers

Hi everyone. Today we’re going to talk about superpowers.  How many of you have ever wished you could fly or have x-ray vision or maybe be invisible? Earlier this week my mom took me and some of my friends to see a Spider-Man movie. After the movie all we could talk about was what superpower we would want if we could have one. We wanted them all, of course.

That afternoon I thought about what fun superpower I would want If I could only have one. I like them all, but there’s one superpower that most people don’t think about that would be so much fun. It’s being able to talk to the animals and understand what they’re saying and having them be able to talk to you. We all know animals don’t really talk except when it’s in a make-believe storybook. But what if we could jump inside that story book for a few minutes. You all know how much I love to write so let’s jump inside my make-believe zoo story and have some fun.

Get ready. Big jump. Yay we’re here!

Wow look at all the animals. There’s a giraffe, and a lion and an elephant and oh look, the elephant is waving to us. Let’s talk to him first.

“Hello Mr. Elephant, how are you today?” I said. “My name is Penny. This is my mom, my dog named Puppy and all my friends.”

”So nice to meet you all,” said Mr. Elephant.
“There seems to be so much excitement going on. What’s happening?” I said.
“Today is Sammy the monkey’s birthday and we’re all getting ready for his party. Why don’t you go over and wish him a happy birthday,” said Mr. Elephant?
“Okay,” I said.
‘Happy Birthday Sammy,” we all said.
“Thank you, guys. What are your names?” Sammy said.
“My name is Penny, and this is my mom and my dog named Puppy and these are all my friends,” I said.
“You look familiar Penny. Have we ever met?” said Sammy.
“I don’t think so,” I said.
“I’ll remember soon. Would you all like to come to my birthday party?” said Sammy.
“Oh yes,” we said.
“Oh my gosh! I remember. You’re Penny P. Parker from the Penny P. Parker children’s book series, aren’t you?” said Sammy.
“That’s me. How do you know me?”  I said.
“You’re famous. My mom reads your stories every night to all the animals in the zoo,” said Sammy. “Everyone look who’s here. It’s Penny P. Parker,” said Sammy. “We love you Penny,” said all the animals. “Well I love you too,” I said.
“Here comes my cake and all the candles are lit, and everyone is starting to sing,” said Sammy. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SAMMY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,” sang everyone.
THE END.
Now let’s jump back out and get ready to read some riddles.
Big jump out.
That was really fun. We’ll have to do it again some time.

Riddles sent in from
Hannah from Oklahoma.
I am a tasty treat you can lick with your tongue.
I come in a bowl or cone.
One of my flavors is vanilla.
What am I?
Ice cream. You got it.

Liam from South Carolina.
I’m hot and I live in the sky.
I’m bright, don’t look directly at me.
I will disappear at night.
What am I?
The sun.  Yay you got it right again!

Favorite Snacks.

Chloe from New York.
Take a big slice of red pepper. Then layer cream cheese on top and sprinkle a special seasoning called Everything Bagel seasoning on top of that and then layer again with slices of pepperoni. Yummy in the tummy.

Luke from New York.
My favorite snack when my mom makes it is a big plate of fruit with oranges, strawberries, grapes, and raspberries. And then if I’m still hungry, it’s to the kitchen closet for a bag of pretzels. So good.

I guess I’d better be going. All this food talk always makes me hungry.

This is Penny P. Parker signing off until next time.
Over and Out.
