Dear Penny

I have been getting a lot of emails with questions from my fans on what to do in certain situations. The emails start with Dear Penny and end with can you help me? So, I thought I would answer some of them on this blog today. Here we go.

Dear Penny, I’m six years old like you and I want to wear lipstick, but my mom won’t let me. Can you help me? Signed Kristen.

Dear Kristen, I think I can help. My mom won’t let me wear lipstick either. She says I’m too young, but this is what I do. My mom buys cherry popsicles and I rub the popsicle on my lips and voila my lips are red just like if I had lipstick on. And I do the same thing with cherry lollipops. They both work great. Hope this helps.

Dear Penny, my mom won’t let me wear the color black. It’s my favorite color. Can you help me? Signed Darla.

Dear Darla, I have an idea. There are some clothes that come in stripes and plaids and have lots of pretty colors all mixed together including the color black. This might solve the problem. Hope this helps.

Dear Penny, I just got a puppy for my birthday. She is teeny tiny and oh so cute. I don’t know what to name her. You’re so good at finding names. Can you help me? Signed Elizabeth.

Dear Elizabeth, I know you’re excited. I was excited when I got Puppy. I think if your dog is really small maybe Teacup would be cute or even Gracie. I hope this helps.

Dear Penny, it’s me again, Elizabeth. I would never have thought of Teacup. I love that name. Thank you.

Dear Elizabeth, you’re welcome.

Dear Penny, I asked my mom if I could have some friends over for lunch tomorrow and make lunch for all of us myself. Of course, the only thing I know how to make is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Can you help me make lunch a little more special? Signed Isabel.

Dear Isabel, I have an idea. When you make the peanut butter sandwiches try mixing a few pieces of chocolate chips in the peanut butter and then slice some bananas and put-on top of that. Cut the ends off the bread and cut the sandwiches in half. Serve with two chocolate chip cookies and either hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows or pink lemonade.  How does that sound?

Dear Penny, everyone thought lunch was yummy. Even my mom was impressed. Thank you.

Dear Isabel, you are welcome.

There are a few more Dear Penny emails, but I will save those for another day.
