The Magic Pen

What if everything you wrote down on paper could come true. My

mom and I were out shopping for some school supplies when a

saleslady came up to us and asked if we would like to buy one of these

new pens that just came into the store. She said the kids are loving

them. We asked why and the saleslady said, “look at the colors, they

SPARKLE in the dark.” So, mom and I said why not. I needed a new pen

for a school project and this one seemed just fine. That night I had a

dream about the pen we just bought. In my dream, it sat on my desk

and glowed all night. The next morning, I told my mom about the

dream and asked if the pen could be a magic pen. Mom said I have a

way to vivid imagination, and there is no such thing as a magic pen.

Well okay, maybe, if she says so. So, my school is having a writing

contest and you know how much I love to write. The story has to be fun

and the teacher said to use your imagination. Imagination I thought.

This is perfect. I can make the pen magical after all. What about a magic

pen story? When someone writes with this pen, everything he or she

writes will come true. This is great! I will need to interview all my

friends to see what they would write down that they would want to

come true. Boy, did I get some funny answers. These are just a few of

them.

Jason wanted a robot to do all the things he didn’t like to do like clean

his room.

Henry wanted a pair of pliers to pull his teeth so whenever he needed

money, he could pull a tooth, put the tooth under his pillow and the

tooth fairy would leave him money.

Lucy wanted to have nothing but ice cream all day for breakfast lunch

and dinner.

Luke wanted someone really smart to do his homework and take all his

tests for him so he could get a hundred on everything.

My mom wanted to write something too. She wanted a big house so

my grandma could live with us.
